Joint Comment: Public Procurement Amendment Bill

Open Secrets together with the Legal Resources Centre (LRC) and the Platform to Protect Whistleblowers in Africa (PPLAAF) have made a joint submission commenting on the Public Procurement Amendment Bill 2026. The Bill aims to amend the Public Procurement Act 28 of 2024 by including protections for whistleblowers especially those who may not be protected under the Protected Disclosures Act 26 of 2000. The submission addresses gaps in the Bill to ensure that whistleblowers are protected when blowing the whistle on corruption in the public procurement sector.
