NPA experiences challenges finalising corruption matters

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) says it’s still experiencing challenges finalising corruption matters. There are 34 cases enrolled and 128 cases awaiting decisions in the Specialised Commercial Crimes Unit. The prosecuting body says cases require prosecutors with specialised skills.The NPA briefed the media earlier on Thursday on the performance of the Gauteng division in Pretoria including in some high-profile cases. It admitted some processes affected its ability to conclude criminal cases. Thabiso Tema spoke with Michael Marchant. Head of Investigations at Open Secrets.Â
