MTN probed for human rights violations in war-torn countries

Open Secrets is investigating alleged human rights violations in war-torn and autocratic African and Middle Eastern countries by SA mobile giant MTN and its subsidiaries. G20 Summit | McKinsey and Bain inclusion reflects ‘double standards’

McKinsey and Bain & Co have been included in G20 discussions. They will play a supporting role to the B20 which represents private sector interests at the Summit. Michael Marchant from Open Secrets says this reflects double standards in the way we treat corporations. He also says support is needed for the Presidency’s call to the B20 to terminate the Bain and McKinsey contracts.

Real estate industry attracting ‘corrupt’ investors

The real estate industry has been identified as a sector attracting alleged corrupt investors. An Open Secrets probe has tracked R162 million in homes purchased by politically connected individuals, mainly from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea and Mozambique.
